Codex® HiCap and AlchemyTM Cell-free DNA: Advancing efficiency
Finding a reliable partner in advanced therapy development is an important element for project success. And just as important is the services that partner can offer, over multiple modalities and with a global outlook, with a focus on mRNA manufacturing for the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK).
During the Advanced Therapies Congress in London, Tim Traynor, part of Aldevron’s Technical Sales and Scientific Support team, offered up his take on how to evaluate and select a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) and how the process applies in the EU and UK.
In his presentation, Driving the next Generation of mRNA manufacturing with AlchemyTM Cell-Free DNA and Codex® HiCap T7 Polymerase, Traynor touched on how important it is to increase efficiency in the manufacturing process to advance genomic medicines, focusing on those two products, both provided by Aldevron to industry partners.
Codex HiCap RNA Polymerase
HiCap is a co-transcriptional capping Mutant T7 RNA Polymerase engineered to produce synthetic RNA to meet the demands for improved safety and cost reduction. By reducing immunogenicity from dsRNA and reducing the amount of cap analog required, this enzyme provides an innovative alternative to wild-type RNA polymerase.
Alchemy Cell-free DNA Technology
Alchemy is a cell-free process that enzymatically produces linear DNA template and, compared to traditional E. coli platforms, offers a more than 50% reduction in timelines by eliminating clone screening, growth phases, and multiple sequencing and QC confirmation steps.
To learn more about how the use of HiCap and Alchemy can help minimize dsRNA, increase capping efficiency and shorten timelines, be sure to view the rest of the presentation.
