Protein Immunization Strategies

Protein Immunization

Protein immunization enables the generation of antibodies by directly injecting antigens into the host organism. In many cases, our clients have access to purified recombinant proteins that can be used for immunization. If the antigen is not available, we can express and purify your target in different systems (E. coli, insect, mammalian).

Our experience with conventional immunization strategies for polyclonal and monoclonal antibody development spans over 30 years.

Advantages

  • Native conformation recognition for many target types
  • Immunogen often directly available
  • Detection of recombinant protein incorporated into assays (e.g., sandwich ELISA)
  • Cost effective in many cases

Applications

  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Western blots
  • ELISA
  • Flow cytometry
  • Diagnostics
  • Therapeutic development
