Aldevron Announces Expansion in Madison, WI.

Aldevron, a North Dakota Biotech Company, Announces Expansion in Madison, WI

Aldevron, a biotechnology company based in Fargo, ND, has today announced that the company is expanding into Madison, WI. The new division will produce and sell contract research and manufacturing services marketed under the Aldevron brand. Aldevron Madison has already hired several people and is expected to grow to 20 employees within the company's first two years of operation. Aldevron's operation will be located in the University Research Park.

According to Michael Chambers, President and CEO of Aldevron, the high level of local biotechnology activity made the expansion attractive. “We recognize the strong pool of scientific and business talent in Madison,” said Chambers. “We are honored to be part of the growing biotech community in the State of Wisconsin.”

Tom Foti has been appointed Vice President & General Manager of Aldevron and will lead the Madison division. “We are excited about the opportunity to build research and production teams in Madison that complement Aldevron's existing service platforms,” said Foti. “We very much appreciate Aldevron's commitment to Madison and look forward to building a strong connection with the existing Aldevron sites in Fargo, ND and Freiburg, Germany.”

The Wisconsin State Government has been very supportive of Aldevron's expansion plan in Madison and they have worked closely with Governor Doyle's team in the Commerce Department. "I am working hard as Governor to build on Wisconsin's strengths in biotechnology, providing the resources and the infrastructure necessary for this industry to grow and prosper,” Governor Doyle said. "It's my pleasure to welcome Aldevron's new division to Wisconsin, and I am grateful for the company's commitment to our state. I look forward to a strong and effective partnership with Aldevron."

Chambers and Foti share a common link in that they are both graduates of North Dakota State University's biotechnology and microbiology programs.

Shipping and Receiving Schedule

The remaining months of 2009 are filled with many holidays and cause for celebration. Please find below a summary of the changes we have made to our shipping and receiving schedule. These alterations will allow for reliable delivery of your material. Should you have any questions, concerns or would like to submit a new project requirement please reach us at 701-297-9256.

December and January Shipping/Receiving:

Aldevron will be closed on Thursday December 24th and Friday the 25th; we will reopen on Monday the 28th. We will not be able to ship or receive packages that Thursday or Friday. Unless specifically requested we will not ship packages on Wednesday the 23rd. We will also be closed on Friday, January 1st and will not be able to ship or receive that day.

Please include your own shipping requirements as you initiate new orders throughout the end of the year and feel free to contact us with questions at any time.

AAV Helper Plasmids, Ready-To-Use Available Now

The AAV Helper Plasmids are comprised of a two-construct transfection platform as the helper and packaging functions are maintained within the same vector. This co-transfection approach is more efficient and keeps the end product free of contaminating helper virus. All plasmids are produced under Aldevron’s rigorous quality system and are accompanied by a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis.

Fargo/Red River Valley Flood Update
04/01/2009

Thankfully, the crest in Fargo (40.82 feet) was much lower than the predicted 42-43 feet. Citizens and volunteers from all over worked together to assemble and place approximately 3.5 million sandbags along the river and in other threatened areas. The river continues to go down and we are now monitoring the dikes and levees for breach until the threat passes.

Aldevron has come through this with no impact to our facilities. We are also happy to report that the vast majority of our staff's homes are also unaffected. Those with a project currently taking place will experience minimal delays if any as we are fully operational now.

We have received a wealth of support and prayers from colleagues around the world and are so thankful to be part of this great community!

Fargo/Red River Valley Flood Notice
3/27/2009

As you may or may not be aware, the Fargo area is experiencing a record high river level which is expected to crest on Saturday. We have taken appropriate precautions to protect our facility, equipment and client material. Any current projects may result in a delay though we are doing our best to keep this to a minimum. We will send out updates to all clients via email as necessary though you are very welcome to reach Michelle Berg (701-306-1163) or Darby Miller (701-306-1154) by mobile phone should you have any specific questions or concerns.
